The Stephen Gallacher Foundation
In 2012, the Stephen Gallacher Foundation was established with the mission of promoting golf among children, irrespective of age, gender, or ability. Its primary objective is to introduce youngsters to the sport in a fun and enjoyable setting.
Stephen Gallacher, the founder and a former Ryder Cup player, aims to provide a supportive atmosphere for children to learn and enhance their golf skills. Over the years, the SGF has organised its own events and group teaching sessions at various clubs in Scotland. One of the highlights is the annual race to Dunbar final held every Autumn.
For more than seven years, the foundation has also been running a successful schools coaching program, which now serves an impressive 40 schools. The program aims to reach out to as many children as possible, encouraging them to explore and embrace the sport of golf.
In a significant development in November 2022, the Stephen Gallacher Foundation unveiled its state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence located at Kingsfield. This cutting-edge facility offers children a year-round opportunity to engage in golf activities regardless of the weather conditions.

Kingsfield, where Stephen Gallacher has been based for several years, has maintained a strong partnership with the foundation. In the past, they welcomed local schools to use the driving range in collaboration with the SGF. However, with the addition of the Centre of Excellence, the learning opportunities have expanded, and the facility now serves as a backup option during unfavourable weather conditions.
The Centre of Excellence has proven to be an asset for the foundation’s coaching programs. The facility provides access to a Huxley putting green equipped with the PuttView training aide, as well as two Trackman simulators. These advanced features enhance the coaching experience and contribute to the overall development of young golf enthusiasts supported by the Stephen Gallacher Foundation.
